Ann’s poetry has appeared in the chapbook Collective Eye; in three annual Poetry in Public Places contests; inside city buses; twice in Jasper Magazine; once in Emrys Journal; twice in Fall Lines journal; four times in Indolent Books; and in multiple community newsletters. Ann was selected for an “Emerging Voices” award, received a scholarship for the “Into the Fire” workshop through The Sun Magazine, and won Poetry Society of South Carolina contests.
I’m in awe of the masterful clarity, the perfectly weighted brevity of Ann Humphries’ poems. There’s an immense comfort in her vivid scenes, her people and places so rich in presence, and her clear gaze. … A stunning collection!

“Not only has Ann become an amazing poet, she inspires others to take on their dreams, to reach for whatever their goals are, and to be persistent in meeting and carrying them out. When she “reads” her poems at various functions, she is a performer, a shining beacon of determination, inspiring the young and old alike to continue their work in the arts.”
